Much like the rooms that needed renovating, Valhalla Inn’s accounting system deserved a renovation as well. "To run our accounting, we were using the accounting function of a property management system. Both systems were in place when the new owners purchased the inn," reflects David Krisko, Valhalla Inn’s controller since 1998. "Let’s just say our Tylenol bills were very high. Our month-end close took on average 15 days each month. You could not input the current month’s data until the prior month was closed, so we were always operating in catch-up mode.
